Hardworking Americans Committee issued the following announcement on Nov 4.
Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) visited the U.S.-Mexico border over the weekend to speak with agents on the ground and see firsthand the humanitarian and national security crisis. Walberg joined a congressional delegation that toured facilities in Texas Rio Grande Valley Sector and met with personnel from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“Despite the impeachment theater in Washington, there are pressing issues that we need to stay focused on as policymakers. Securing the border and fixing our broken immigration system are certainly among them,” said Walberg. “During my trip to the southern border, I was able to receive detailed briefings and see for myself the ongoing challenges there. I was impressed with the professionalism, commitment, and compassion of our border security personnel. Congress needs to do its job and ensure our dedicated border agents have the necessary resources to address the influx of migrants, promote a humane and lawful system, and keep our border secure and country safe. We cannot afford to ignore the situation on the border any longer.”
