Township of Genesee issued the following announcement on March 17.
Effective as of 5 PM on March 16, 2020, the Genesee County Road Commission will Exempt motor carriers and drivers providing direct assistance in support of relief efforts related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreaks from Seasonal Weight and Speed Restrictions on all county roads within Genesee County. Knowing the importance of getting food and other supplies to retailers at this time, we are taking these steps to ensure carriers can make deliveries as quickly and efficiently as possible. Direct assistance means transportation and other relief services provided by a motor carrier or its driver(s) to the immediate restoration of essential services, such as medical care supplies or other essential items such as food. The Seasonal Weight and Speed Restriction will remain in effect for all other Motor Carriers thru 6AM on Thursday, March 19 2020.
