Republican House Candidate David Martin has won the race for House District 48, defeating Democrat incumbent Sheryl Kennedy.
Martin expressed gratitude in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Nov. 4.
“God is good, God is good, truly He is Good!
“Team Martin is honored to declare victory this morning! Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for your contributions to our success. Thank you to Genesee County voters for entrusting me with this great responsibility, it is a humbling honor I feel extremely privileged to take on. Time to take our service before self motto to Lansing!”
Kennedy also took to Facebook to concede.
“So it is official. I would like to formally congratulate David Martin on his election to the House 48th District seat. I will do everything I can to help make a smooth transition for our next representative.”
