Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb 22.
The Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Durand Chamber Foundation Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Rich and Nancy Folaron have been named Volunteers of The Year.
The Folarons have been active in various groups among them, the Durand Rotary, Chicken BBQ, End of Summer Cruisin, Harvestfest, Beautification Program, Edible Landscape, and Christmas Lights Project.
Mr. Folaron is a member of the SATA Board and serves as Durand City Councilman at Large. He is a bailiff for the Shiawassee Court System.
Mrs Folaron has served as the Librarian at Durand Memorial Library for over 50 years. She has served on numerous committees and served as President of the Durand Rotary.
