HARDWORKING AMERICANS COMMITTEE: WALBERG VOTES AGAINST SECRETIVE IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY PROCESS

Wash

Hardworking americans committee issued the following announcement Oct 31.

Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today voted against H.Res 660, a partisan impeachment resolution that ratifies the current unfair impeachment proceedings conducted behind closed doors. Yesterday, Walberg joined his Michigan colleagues in sending a letter to Speaker Pelosi urging her to bring greater transparency and due process protections to the inquiry.

“This highly partisan impeachment process has been broken from day one,” said Walberg. “Today’s resolution does not provide the due process required of such a consequential inquiry and does nothing to eliminate secret depositions. Instead, with the integrity of this process on the line, Speaker Pelosi chose to double down on secrecy and the flawed status quo. Repeatedly undermining the fundamental principles of fairness will leave the American people with no confidence in the credibility of these proceedings.”
