Township of Genesee issued the following announcement on March 25.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone in our county in need of supplies (toilet paper, cleaning products, sanitizer, baby wipes and diapers, food, water, and whatever else) to contact us. We are partnering with local churches and other community leaders and programs to get supplies to these people in need. I stress, IN NEED. PLEASE don't call if you are not in need. This is a time to help others, not take advantage.
If you know of anyone in need, have them call us at 810-257-3422, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will speak with an actual person (myself included), not an automated system or a voicemail.
This help is not just available for our elderly population, and it's not just for residents of the City of Flint. It's for ANYONE IN NEED in GENESEE COUNTY!
Sheriff Swanson is VERY dedicated to this task force, as am I! Let's get help to people who cannot help themselves during this time!
ALSO, if you, or any organization you may be associated with, have the resources to help in any way, we can get you in contact with our Chaplain or Assistant Chaplain who is spearheading this task force with the Sheriff. Call the same number mentioned above, 810-257-3422.
Copy and paste this message to your status or share this post if you'd like to help spread the word. Thanks!
WE'LL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER!
