Cost of college went up for all students at Mott Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.3 percent for 2018-19 at Mott Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Michigan residents paid $5,112 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $14 more than the $5,098 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 36.6 percent more than residents this year, or $6,982. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 0.2 percent from $6,968 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Michigan residents. And about 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 409 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.3 million and 185 students took out student loans totaling more than $908,379.

Including all undergraduates (7,715), 4,505 students used grants or scholarships totaling $31.2 million, and 2,505 students took out $14.4 million in federal student loans.
