City of Saginaw recently issued the following announcement.
"Over the next 5 to 10 years here in Saginaw, I think we are set to see a resurgence of the business sector. I don't know where it's going to come from just yet. But we’ve experienced growth in the health industry sector. I think between the business sector and the incubator models, we are going to see that thrive.
I think we'll see more satellite campuses or more diverse opportunities for education. I think there will also be more skill-based training that comes here.
I'm also hoping to see revitalization of our neighborhoods coming in to play. I’d like to see where we have money coming in to really be able to impact not only the central business districts, but also some of those interior and exterior neighborhoods. I’d like to see a boost of love and money flood to those districts.
We are already seeing the schools and education system make some pretty big changes, like the SISD making some big moves to build high schools. That's going to play a major role in what the community looks like and the type and caliber of education here. Our education will rise because of investments like that.
I think we're on the brink of something great, where there are those transformative ideas coming into play that could set us apart from other communities. We’ve got some really bright things ahead of us and I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to happen.
There's a sense of family in the City of Saginaw. Whether that is people who come to Saginaw, or they've been living here, or they have roots here in some way. With Saginaw, I see examples where that concept of family has always been a knitting force to keep them going. As we go forward, and as the City of Saginaw grows, I see more opportunities for families to have better, more well-rounded lives.”
