Bentley Community School District issued the following announcement on Dec 3.
Dear Bentley Community,
We have made the very difficult decision to close school tomorrow. We have listened to concerns from students, staff, families, and many others across our county: anxiety is high.
While there have been no credible threats, we understand the need for people to take a collective pause—a mental health day—for families to help their children make sense of the world around them. I understand this creates a hardship for some students and families, and for that I am truly sorry.
This is a difficult time and our goal is always to do what is best for students. It seems that a day to regroup and start fresh on Monday is in our school family’s collective best interest.
Respectfully,
Dr. Kristy Spann
Superintendent
