Bentley Community School District issued the following announcement on Dec 26.
Congratulations to Haven Trottier, who was the Bentley High School 1st place finisher and the 3rd place overall finisher in Genesee County, for the 2nd GISD Investor Pitch Competition!
Each school ran its own competition and judges voted on the top two student ventures, which received a first place award of $100 or second place award of $50. These two winners went on to compete in the regional GISD Investor Pitch Competition.
Over 105 students, from 16 local schools in Genesee County, participated in the event. Haven and her awesome idea, 'Bear Hugs,' placed 3rd in the regional competition and netted herself an additional $550 award on top of her $100 individual school award!
This is the second year in a row in which a Bentley student has finished in the Top 3!
A special thanks to our advisors Brenda and Larry Finkbeiner who worked with our students to help craft their ideas and work on their pitches for the contest! It is great when schools are able to pair up with local business leaders in the best interest of our students!
Not only is Haven a great student-athlete, but her idea shows what a compassionate and caring young women she is! The Bentley Family is proud to call her our own!
