Week of Love

Val

Fenton Historical Society and The A. J. Phillips Museum issued the following announcement on Feb 18.

Let's wrap up our Week of Love with a love story. Frederick and Margaret Horrell, both born right here in Fenton in the 1870s, were married here on June 30, 1903. Together, they made their home at 308 Main St. and had one son together: Alfred-- known affectionately as Crane.

Fred-- whose parents emigrated from London just three years before he was born-- owned Horrell's Hardware Store at 134 N. LeRoy from 1902 until 1935. Fred preceded Margaret in death when he passed in their home on November 30, 1950. Margaret passed two years later.

You can see Margaret and Fred here, along with the Horrell storefront featuring Crane on the front steps and Fred in the window.
