Let's chat about Railroad YMCAs (RRYMCA)!
RRYMCAs were popular across the country and would become a staple near busy depots - like Durand! RRYMCA offered railroad employees some much needed amenities that they could use during their down time. This included, restrooms, lounges, food, recreational amenities, and more. Most importantly, they were conveniently located within walking distance and provided a safe, comfortable space for rest and rejuvenation.
How lucky are we that this building is still here today?!
