Congressman Kildee Announces Jake Bennett As New District Director

WASHINGTON—Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-08) On April 30, announced Jake Bennett will serve as his next District Director. Bennett will succeed Chris Flores, who after five years of service in the Congressman’s office will be retiring.

“A fifth-generation Bay City resident, Jake Bennett knows mid-Michigan and has served our community in many ways, including in my congressional office over the last decade. As District Director, I know that he will be a leader for the constituents of the Eighth District,” said Congressman Kildee. “I want to congratulate my outgoing District Director, Chris Flores, on his well-deserved retirement and thank him for his many years of service and friendship.”

Before being promoted to District Director, Bennett served as Deputy District Director for Congressman Kildee since 2013. He previously worked for three other Members of Congress, including former Representatives Dale E. Kildee, Jim Barcia and Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. Bennett also serves his community as an on-call firefighter and medical first responder with the Frankenlust Township Fire Department, as well as a marine deputy and recovery diver with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. He lives in Bay City with his wife Sara and their two daughters.

Congressman Kildee’s district office is located at 601 S. Saginaw St., Suite 403 in Flint and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. The office helps constituents navigate the federal government and has returned thousands of dollars back to families in Michigan. Constituents should reach out to Congressman Kildee’s district office if they have questions on their Social Security benefits, immigration applications, veterans’ benefits and any other federal programs.
