WASHINGTON— Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-08), member of the Ways and Means Committee's Subcommittee on Trade, issued the following statement after the Biden administration announced a Rapid Response Labor Mechanism petition against a Draxton facility in Irapuato, Mexico:
"I fought to replace NAFTA with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement to ensure all workers have the right to a fair wage and safe working conditions.
"I applaud President Biden and Ambassador Tai for taking action to protect Mexican workers' rights to collectively bargain. Reports of workers being denied their rights to collectively bargain and freely assemble must be addressed immediately. I applaud the workers at the Draxton facility in Irapuato for their bravery in speaking out to improve working conditions."
