Davison Community Schools welcomed 5,582 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 5,582 students enrolled in Davison Community Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.9% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 82.5% of the Davison Community Schools total enrollment.

Davison Community Schools covers nine schools within Genesee County with its main office in Davison. Among them, Davison High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,694 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
