Volunteers Needed: Help the Beautification Commission Decorate Downtown for Fall

The City of Fenton Beautification Commission needs volunteers for its annual project to dress downtown for fall by hanging corn stalks on light poles will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, at 8 a.m.

Volunteers for the project, which generally takes about an hour, are given corn stalks, fastening supplies and guided to the poles they're responsible for.

"It's a quick and fun project that really helps usher in the fall season downtown," said commission chairwoman Dawn Overmyer, who added that people arriving at City Hall between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. will be welcomed with coffee and donuts.

In the past, entire families and groups of friends have volunteered together.

To volunteer or for more information, call Overmyer at 810-629-0455.
