State Representative David W. Martin, a Republican from Davison, has cast an important vote in favor of protecting women's sports in Michigan. House Bills 4066 and 4469 aim to prevent biological males from participating in girls' high school sports and seek to integrate Title IX protections for women's sports into the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.

"We owe it to our daughters to keep them safe and provide them with an even playing field," Martin stated. "The vast majority of the public knows this is common-sense. We cannot allow a small faction of radicals to jeopardize our daughters’ safety and success for the sake of their ideology."

The bills successfully passed the Michigan House on Thursday afternoon and are now set to proceed to the Senate.

"I’ll always support women’s sports, and the rights guaranteed under Title IX," Martin added. "Women fought hard for years to obtain these protections and have their own sports programs, and I will continue fighting to protect women’s sports from mediocre male athletes."
